Babysitting

Karina, Jason & The Boys were in Chicago yesterday for a trip to the zoo and other fun things, so we got to keep The Girls for the day. I am more impressed than ever at how Karina (and Jason, too... although Karina is home alone a lot with the FOUR little ones) does this, day in and day out. You just have to experience it first hand to understand what I'm saying.Madison in the Megasaucer. They love this thing, and so do we! The Girls get bored with just lying around, even though they can roll and even creep to get where they want to go. Until they can sit up on their own, this device is a life-saver.
It's fun to watch them interact. They already can make each other smile.
We actually caught them both smiling at the same time.
While Madison napped, Kate played outside on the quilt for a long time.
(Kate doesn't like naps, too much.)
Then, Madison had her turn.
They were good listeners when Papi read a storybook.

It was another 300-mile day for Karina and the boys. As Reiley puts it, "It was a long trip, because it was a long road."
It was a long day for us, too, but a lot of fun!

Road Trip

Yesterday PR and Karina made a 300-mile round-trip with the awesome foursome to visit Great-Grandma K. Everyone traveled very well.G-Gma K had not yet met the girls. (It takes a lot of planning to move a group this large, and young...)
Papi and the girls enjoyed a little nap when they got there.
I didn't go along on the trip (four car seats take up a lot of space).
So, I stayed home and made p.j.'s for Josiah and Luke.
Here's Luke, trying on his Veggie Tales pajamas.
p.s. Josiah: I'll bring your p.j.'s to Chicago soon.

Where's My Red Pencil?

I won't be able to make it to this class reunion, but I did consider returning this invitation with corrections marked.

A Work of Art

I finally got around to putting together the wreath kit that Daniel & Andrea sent me for Mother's Day. The empty frame will be filled with a picture of Josiah's baby sister, who will be making her appearance in the next couple of weeks.
We can hardly wait!

Up on the Housetop

I was going to post a picture of PR putting up his new TV antenna on the roof, but he hasn't done it yet. Apparently the rocking chair/receiver in the front yard is doing a pretty good job, so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...

Seriously, we are canceling the cable because we'll be able to get plenty of "local" stations with the antenna (the rocking chair-rig was PR's way of testing his new acquisition). He called a week ago to cancel the cable, and since the work order fell through the cracks we've had a week of free cable. Hence, no picture of PR on the roof... yet.

What in the world......?

Yes, this is my front yard. And if you can figure out what's going on, you win the prize.
P.S. PR is involved.

Me, Too

Kate, being serious...
Madison, too.
Kate, enjoying her bath.
Madison, too.

Luke, eating his first Freeze 'n Squeeze.Reiley, too. (He wanted to know what happened to the stick on his popsicle.)

Reiley, trying on his new p.j.'s I made for him.
I haven't made Luke's, yet.

Woodchuck Chuck

Now I'm beginning to believe we do live in the country. Take a look at my tiny "garden", consisting of a tomato plant a several bean plants.
When I first noticed a few leaves were missing, I blamed it on a severe thunderstorm. Then PR came face to face with Punsutawney Phil, who apparently has taken up residence under our deck, and has dined on every single bean leaf.
We're going to borrow a critter trap. I asked the guy what to bait it with and he said, "Apparently green bean leaves."

Makin' Hay

You'd think we live in the country, but we don't.
Our subdivision is under development, and it looks like the landowner is getting as much as he can from the land before the lots are sold.

Luke's Nap

This is the first time Luke has ever taken a nap at my house, so I just had to take a picture.

Phoenicopteridae Phamily

PR just couldn't resist the chance to play church league softball again.
Don't let the pink shirts fool you... they won their first game, 13 to 2.
PR can still smack it a mile.

Men at Work

I'm not quite sure what the project was, but these three were working very hard at accomplishing their goal.

Cousins!

Josiah is here for a visit.
The boys took turns driving Reiley's John Deere.
It's a good thing they have a big yard.
They use every square inch.

Watch where you're going, Reiley!
