Answered Prayer

Last fall, when we pulled up stakes in Chicago and moved to Smallville, some saw it as a leap of faith, and others simply viewed it as crazy. Maybe it was a little of both. We didn't have employment here, but we took a deep breath, bought a house, and moved. By Christmas Eve we were settled in.
I kept thinking, "It's not such a big thing to ask God to give PR a little church where he could minister, is it?". So, that's what I did.
And He answered.
We visited this little church on January 7th. The following Sunday, January 14th, their young pastor announced he would be leaving the pastorate at the end of February. PR got a phone call on Monday morning and met with some of the leadership for lunch. They asked if he'd be interested in pursuing the possibility.
He was.
Since March 1, 2007 I am a pastor's wife (again). When no one's looking, PR tries his hand at the drums.
(Do you think they'll let him play with the praise team?)

It's such a great blessing to know how God is using you in your new community. May He continue to bless you all and the Church.

Well, isn't that something!!! Blessings for sure upon your new ministry. You 'sound' happy about it. You'll have to post a few of his first sermon notes or something. And a drum concert on YouTube should be in order, too.

    Anyway, God bless.

It's the good news I've been waiting for!! Congratulations and best wishes, Rich, for your new ministry. It appears to be a good fit and I pray that it meets with your, and the congregation's, expectations.
