This is the life

A full tummy, a dry diaper, and a place in the sun.
What more do you need?

Little Eyes

Luke and Reiley were fascinated to watch our neighbor cutting down a tree this morning.There are little eyes upon you, and they're watching night and day;
There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say;
There are little hands all eager to do everything you do,
And a little boy is dreaming of the day he'll be like you.

Tip of the Day

Today's handy tip: When you set up the gazebo, remember to anchor it down; especially if you think the wind might start to pick up. (pun intended)

A Weekend Visitor

Flat Stanley arrived from New York state yesterday to spend the weekend with us.He was just a bit hungry after his trip, and wanted a snack. I had healthy options, but he chose a fudgsicle.

This morning we went out for breakfast.
He thought the coffee was ok; not as good as Starbucks, but a whole lot easier on a traveler's wallet. We had some errands to run. It was nice of him to pay for the gas.At church, he helped PR make the bulletin for tomorrow's service.
We stopped off at the bank. Thankfully, the line was short.
Back home, Flat Stanley helped wash my old car.
(I had almost forgotten it's a white car.)He's a good gardener, too, and told me it wasn't too early to plant tomatoes.
(I hope he's right.)

I invited him to go to work with me this afternoon, to visit some of the residents at the nursing home, but he said he's pretty tired from such a busy morning and would like to take a nap. Maybe he'll join me tomorrow.
At any rate, he'll be on his way to Oklahoma on Monday. This will be a quick visit, but Flat Stanley's a helpful guy to have around, even for a weekend.

Well, they are sort of pretty when the sun shines on them, just so...

Waiting for Mommy

"Pssst, Kate. When did Mommy say she was coming to pick us up?"
"Relax, Maddie. We've been waiting only a few minutes."
“I hope she remembers we’re at Papi's and Vovó’s house.”
"She's always remembered before, Maddie.""There she is! Mommy!!""I was beginning to wonder about that next feeding...""I wasn't worried at all, really."

Boy Scouts

The guys are working on setting a date for a backyard campout.
Maybe we'll try it when Josiah comes to visit in June.
I wonder if anyone would get any sleep...

Luke's too busy sweeping to get in the picture...

Veggie Tales

(First of all, a footnote: When you’re going to Vovó’s house, and play in Papi’s sandbox, make sure you take along a change of clothes to put on after your bath.)

When the Veggie Tales theme song starts up, pay attention.
You have to be ready to start moving your feet.
Decide who's going to lead the parade.

Put down the graham crackers.Keep in step.

Sing loudly!
Rest, and repeat.

Symbiotic

Papi needed a nap.
Kate needed a bottle-prop.
They found each other.

You know it's Spring when....

...Papi gets the sandbox ready.

OK, Josiah, when are you coming to visit? We're ready!
