One of Those Days

OK, are we having fun yet?

I was going to rant about how this day is going, but it would be more uplifting to remain silent. As my momma always said, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything."

So, now I have to figure out how to "recapture" some lost photos I was going to post....

In the meantime, I'm going out to pick some strawberries and plant some peppers. And count to ten.

Gabriel, I presume?

Before I post any pictures from our little road trip, I want to let you know how God gave me a "pick-me-up" the morning we were getting ready to leave.

PR and I were out for our early morning walk, and as we approached a street corner we heard a car coming with its radio blaring.

Wait a minute... that's no radio. That guy is playing a trumpet!!

As the driver pulled up to the stop sign, he quit blowing long enough to look left and right. Then, with pursed lips, he pulled away and resumed his tooting. We laughed out loud!

It sounded like warm-up drills. We pondered aloud whether he was on his way home or just heading out for a gig. Or, maybe his wife doesn't allow him to practice at home. (I grew up playing the trumpet, and remember many times being asked very nicely to go outside and serenade the neighborhood, or at least to "put a mute in it!")

I've seen people performing many life skills while driving, but this one tops them all. I guess the Lord knew I needed a good chuckle.

Celebrating 32 Years

"I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will be glad and exult in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High."

Berry Excited

Today I have two newsworthy items to share: the hailstorm didn't damage my strawberries, which are planted on the leeward side of the garage. My vegetable garden, windward, took a hit; but I think it's early enough in the growing season that most things will recover. The Lord was gracious to allow time to replant the things that won't.

I am also excited to discover, and report to you, that my sister MaryM just started her own blog on Mother's Day. You can take a look at it over here.
Welcome to Blogland, Sis!

A Hail of a Thyme

We were surprised by a sudden hailstorm this afternoon. I'm wondering how my garden fared. It's too muddy to check it out yet. Stay tuned.

Show Me The Money

This just about covers it...
but "Nurse" isn't on the list. (How ironic is that?)

Sisters!

After yesterday's post, I got nostalgic and decided to dredge up a few of our sister pix taken over the years. Here we go:
